Marvelous Light--A Double-Take Review of Sagrada

Marvelous Light--A Double-Take Review of Sagrada

A few weeks ago our Instagram feeds were swamped with images of a beautiful dice game with gorgeous components. We found out the game was called Sagrada, from Floodgate Games. We soon had our own copies, and we were eager to see if this game played as great as it looks.

Sagrada is a dice-rolling, puzzly, thinker of a filler game. It plays 1-4 players in 30 minutes. (The time goes down with fewer players.) Players are competing to be the best stained glass artisan.

So, is Sagrada all it’s cracked up to be? Or is it a...pane? Let's find out!

Gen Con: The Aftermath--Part One

Gen Con: The Aftermath--Part One

Some of you might know that I (Jeremiah) went to GenCon last weekend in Indianapolis. Now, before we go any further, let me say this: I've been to Origins every year since 2009. Big. Deal. The last two years at Origins, I've brought along some help in covering the convention, and was able to shoot some video interviews for our YouTube channel, and make some really great connections along the way. If there's one thing I've learned in those two trips to Origins, it's this: It is really hard to cover a convention in one day and truly get a handle on exactly what is going on there... So I went to GenCon by myself (no help this time) and gave myself a whopping day and a half to try and cover the largest gaming event on the continent... Here's Part One of what I came up with!

Featured Campaign!

12 Realms: Ancestors Legacy

A little over a year ago Mage Company successfully ran a campaign for 12 Realms a fantasy co-op board game with some sweet miniatures that is based in the, well... 12 Realms. Players quest along their merry way using classic fairy tale characters in order to overthrow some sort of baddies etc. Ancestor's Legacy is the next step in that quest, it comes with a whole bunch of bits, minis, cards and tokens. The components and artwork shown on the campaign is all top notch! If you love fantasy miniatures games, this is one you won't want to miss!
